Before you chase perfect stealth, understand the mission loop: read the space, gather intel, choose an approach, then adapt when the plan changes.
The four verbs
Official material frames each operation around infiltration, investigation, bluffing and force. You do not need to commit to one identity for the entire game. Treat them as tools in a sequence.
Infiltrate
Read patrols, sightlines and entrances before moving. A slower first minute often saves a full restart.
Investigate
Look for the detail that changes the route: a device, a clue, a person or a new line of approach.
Bluff
Use confidence and context as cover. The cleanest route is often the one that never looks like a fight.
Adapt
When cover breaks, switch plans. A noisy escape is still a successful extraction if the objective is complete.

Turn on subtitles, choose toggle/hold options that feel natural and adjust sensitivity before the first serious operation.

Read the brief
Note the target, the location and the likely pressure point. You are collecting a hypothesis, not memorising a script.

Scout before committing
Pause at the edge of a space. Identify one safe fallback route before you take the first disguise or interaction.

Q-Branch tools are not trophies. Use one to open information or access, not simply to make an entrance louder.

Rush the first room
Early information is usually more valuable than early speed.
Assume loud means failed
Re-route, stabilise the situation and keep the objective in sight.
